“You probably won’t be able to have children”.

“You might turn into a man, or if you don’t turn into a man you might turn into a lesbian.”

This and much more were some of the myths German journalist Kathrine Switzer heard while growing up in the 50s, as all those around her attempted to discourage her for running.

Stating she might turn into a lesbian wasn’t a bad thing at all, since we all know lesbians have a great time practicing lesbianism (lol).

But ignorance was so big, that even that they didn’t know.

One day on 1967, our Kathrine signed up for the Boston Marathon! Oh my Goddess what have she done?! Boston Marathon was considered a male rite of passage for a marathoner, and yet never ever any woman had officially taken part, on its 70-year history.

Clearly, this was an outrage for most of the little men of the time. How dare this German woman face them and humiliate the males in that way? How dare she challenge all the medical science of everyone known?

The result was far from elegant for those narrow-minded, short-sighted homunculi. They attacked her during the race, pushed her off the circuit.

But these images spread around the world and embarrassed everyone who was not just homunculus and hominid for evolving. From then on, Kathrine's life was never the same, nor was sport. Everything has changed! And it's another proof that we should never surrender
