Maria Villota


We may find warrior women anywhere in the world on whatever profession. Today I'm bringing to you María de Villota Comba, a Spanish motor racing driver. She was the daughter of former Formula 1 driver Emilio de Villota and sister of Emilio de Villota Jr., who competed in Formula Palmer Audi. In July 2012, she suffered a serious accident, during aerodynamic tests at Duxford airport in East London. According to reports the Spanish hit hard against a truck of the team that was stopped in the track wounding itself in the face and head. In the late afternoon, Maria had to undergo a surgical intervention in the skull, in which she lost her right eye.

In 2013, she was appointed to the Supreme Council of the Real Automóvil Club de España, and on March 6, the Spanish TV station Antena 3 announced the hiring of Villota as a commentator for the coverage of the Formula 1 events. participation in a pre-show session called Safety Car, where topics related to pilot safety will be addressed.

On the morning of October 11, she was found dead in her hotel room by the emergency services. She died following the aftermath of the serious accident suffered in 2012. She would be 39 next January.
