Mothers Day

MOTHERS DAY The mornings screaming through her dreams, Her husband left before the break of day. She lifts her head from its pillow bed, The kids are ripe and ready for the melee. She greets them with a mommies smile They smile back cause they got plans for her. Some morning speed is all she needs To get her tired mind out of reverse And to nurse her...... Cause it's mothers day And you could say Despite the wear and tear she seems alright. But mothers day is tailor made To send her on her way to lose her mind. But in time she knows she'll find Her life stood by. The kids are circling around her feet, The dishes dance a jig in the kitchen sink. The doorbell rings, the telephone sings Life is on its way to clip her wings. The landlords pounding at the door He wants his dough But she knows that aint all. He gives her a pinch to grow an inch But her pride shrinks down again To a half inch small And its all because its mothers day And you could say Despite the wear and tear she seems alright. But mothers day is tailor made To send her on her way to lose her mind. In time she knows she'll find Her life stood by. She sends the oldest off to school Making sure he leaves the house looking cool. She looks at the clock and turns on the box To see if anyone out there is living it too. As Oprah raves the baby waves As if to say Mom your life is mine!!! Hold me, love me, feed me, squeeze me Comfort me and give me all of your time Don't wonder why Because its mothers day...... Why is it no one else will see What she's got Aint so far from her dream?? The only thing missing is a warm tender kiss And love returned that she gives out for free She screams why can't it be?????? She finally gets to rest her mind As she sees the sun go slowly down. She hangs her tired head to cry Cause her husband, still, is not around. When he finally shows, God only knows, He's unaware of all that she's been through. He climbs aboard as her reward But she falls asleep ,she knows what she's gotta do....... She's gotta go through Another Mothers day.
